U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo North Border Patrol Station rescued illegal aliens who were being loaded into a tractor-trailer north of Laredo, Texas.
The incident occurred during the late afternoon of April 7, when Border Patrol agents received a report of a commercial tractor-trailer being loaded with several individuals near the Killam Industrial Boulevard. Agents responded and discovered 36 illegal aliens in two tractor-trailers.
The illegal aliens were determined to be from Mexico and the drivers were determined to be United States citizens. Included in the group of illegal aliens, were three juveniles, with two being unaccompanied.
The drivers and illegal aliens were arrested and processed accordingly. The tractor-trailers were seized by the U.S. Border Patrol. Special agents from Homeland Security Investigations assisted in the smuggling investigation.
The Laredo Sector Border Patrol will continue to warn against the dangers of people crossing illegally into the United States through dangerous environmental conditions.
