On 2/5/19 at approximately 12:43a.m., the Laredo Police Department Communications Division received an emergency call stating someone had been shot. Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of E. Lyon St. and were able to make contact with the caller. The caller advised that her son had been shot. Officer located the victim, identified only as a 16-year-old male and immediately requested the assistance of Laredo Fire Department Paramedics.
The paramedics arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim was later flown in to a San Antonio area hospital and was listed as critical but stable condition. His current status is unknown.
The Crimes Against Persons (CAPERs) Division was called to the scene and have taken over the investigation. Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses in an attempt to identify the suspect. Preliminary reports indicate the shot came from the outside of the residence and struck victim who was inside the residence.

The 16-year-old victim succumb to the injuries in a San Antonio area hospital on 2/7/19. He has been identified as Jesus Alejandro Ramirez Jr.
The case has not yet officially been ruled a homicide by the Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office.
