Between the dates of October 24 and October 29, Border Patrol agents assigned to the Interstate Highway 35 Checkpoint have detected and arrested 13 individuals posing as impostors to gain further entry into the interior of the United States. The individuals produced an array of valid documentation ranging from non-immigrant visas to U.S. passports and birth certificates belonging to other people. All individuals were encountered as passengers in multiple public transportation bus lines. The nationalities of the impostors were determined to consist of 12 Mexican nationals and one El Salvadoran.
All were processed accordingly, to include some of the impostors being prosecuted for federal charges of “Misuse” and “False Use of a Passport.”
