U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo South Border Patrol Station rescued multiple illegal aliens in distress during their attempts to cross the Rio Grande River and illegally enter the United States in Laredo, Texas.

On October 28, 2018, at approximately 8:00 a.m., agents near Chacon Creek encountered a group of 11 individuals attempting to illegally enter the United States. Agents immediately detained two, while the rest of the group jumped into Chacon Creek in order to evade detention. One of the individuals that entered the creek struggled to stay afloat and cried out for help. A Border Patrol agent entered the creek and rescued the female individual as she was going under water. The individual, a Guatemalan national, was pulled to safety and offered medical attention by a Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technician. A total of eight illegal aliens were apprehended, while three individuals were able to swim back into Mexico.
All illegal aliens were processed accordingly and did not require further medical attention.
