Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo South Station Border Community Liaison Unit joined officers from the United Independent School District police department to greet students during “High-Five Friday” at Andrew Trautmann Elementary in Laredo, Texas.
On September 28, officers and agents were at the entrance of the school to greet and high-five the students as they came to school. The students were surprised and enthusiastic in meeting the officers and agents. They also took the opportunity to encourage the kids to do well in school, to be good citizens, and to stay away from alcohol and drugs.
The goal of the program is to create a friendly and positive atmosphere with students to open up communication with local law enforcement
